Workshop 2013 will offer more than 200 learning opportunities, including returning favorites like the larger Group Sessions seminars and the more intimate Learning Labs and Action Labs, as well as new features and innovative programming. Training will include methods to help schools use their limited resources more efficiently, ways school districts can become environmentally and financially sustainable, and strategies on becoming more effective school leaders. School Security Initiatives, Threat Assessments and Proper Planning

School security is continuing to command national attention. This session will help participants learn to recognize potential security breaches; identify the players necessary to create an effective emergency preparedness team; and analyze a variety of security factors, including students, parents, visitors, and the school facility. The presenters, which include a school administrator, a law enforcement officer and a design professional, will share their individual experiences and perspectives.
